Longing to Escape

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Imprisoned by our fears, we long for escape, for freedom. But the father of lies ensnares us again and again with thoughts like: “What if I fail?” or “What if nobody likes me?” or “I’ll never be good enough.” Over and over we give in to defeat, and our God-given confidence slips away. In times when our fears would overwhelm us, we must listen for God’s voice. God will give us the strength and courage to do His will if we will ask Him. God loves us unconditionally, and as His Word tells us: There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear (1 John 4:18). God loves you. God believes in you, and through His blood you are more than good enough. Claim God’s truth and find renewed courage this day.
