Catch a Glimpse of Glory
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV1984)
A gentle breeze stirred the leaves. A cardinal called to his mate. What a glorious day to spend in the park. My seven-year-old nephew pumped the swing until he could go no higher. “Wow!” he exclaimed. “I can see Grandma! I can see God! I can see Jesus! I can see everyone who ever lived!” While gravity keeps our physical selves from soaring to unimaginable heights, so another form of gravity keeps us from soaring spiritually. In Luke 10:42 (NIV1984) Jesus reminds Martha that her sister, who has been sitting at His feet learning of Him, has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. What wondrous things are we missing as we plod along in daily drudgery? What glimpses of glory have we missed as we bustle busily through each day? Mary chose the better part. We too have a choice.
